Art Along the Rogue Street Painting and Music Festival
Grants Pass, Oregon - October 6 & 7, 2007
Art Along the Rogue Street Painting and Music Festival held on Saturday and Sunday, October 6 & 7, 2007 in Grants Pass is looking for artsits interested in creating a pastel chalk drawing at this year's festival. This is a fun and creative way to experience this art form along-side other artists from the area. A street painting seminar with instruction by fesitval featured artists will be held on Friday, October 5th at 6:00 p.m. in downtown Grants Pass.
Artists will receive an 8' x 8' space on the street, detailed street painting instructions, pastel chalks, logo kneeling pad, artist t-shirt, lunches, water, and massage. In past festivals, as many as 50 artists of all skill levels have participated. This fifth annual street painting and music festival will take place in downtown Grants Pass on "H" Street from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.
Art Along the Rogue 2007 will feature two nationally-known street painters creating huge pastel chalk drawings on the street along-side regional artists and students from area elementary through high school. Featured professional street painters are Jane Durand of Santa Barbara, California and Rod Tryon, from Long Island, New York. Both of these artists have performed at the biggest street painting festivals in the country as well as street painting events in Mexico, Europe and Asia.
