Roseburg, Oregon –
The popular summer musical theater at Umpqua Community College presents three plays this year, one for each of its stages. And that includes the new Swanson Amphitheatre.
Cinderella opens July 24 in the 1,010 seat Jacoby Auditorium. The production is joined on July 25 by The Fantasticks in the 180-seat Centerstage Theatre and The Last Five Years in the new outdoor amphitheatre. Show dates are July 26, 27, 31, August 1, 2, and 3. The Fantasticks has a special showing on July 28 and The Last Five Years on August 4.
Cinderella, perhaps the best-loved fairytale of all time, is always popular. The Fantasticks, the longest running musical in the world, is a moving tale of young lovers who become disillusioned only to develop a more meaningful relationship. And The Last Five Years ingeniously chronicles the five-year life of a marriage. Evening shows start at 7:30 p.m. except for performances in the amphitheatre, which start at 8 p.m. after sundown. Matinees open at 2 p.m.
