Blending Fine Food, Scenery, and Wines

Wine ClassicBozeman, Montana

Simply di Vine Wine Classic, on Saturday, July 12th, 2008.

Fine wines, scrumptious food, breathtaking mountain scenery, and an auction full of fascinating items to benefit Montana's Museum of the Rockies accurately describes the museum's Wine Classic, now in its seventh year. This event blends the sophistication of wine with the casual adventure of the West.

Southwestern Montana's finest restaurants and caterers treat patrons to an abundance of hors d'oeuvres and desserts. Approximately 100 carefully chosen premium wines are being served with vintners on hand to discuss their creations. Auction items include rare wines, collectable art, and one-of-a kind travel adventures. This year, an especially valuable collection of wine, a 25-year Opus One vertical collection covering the years 1979 through 2003, is the featured auction item. Opus One was founded by Baron Philippe de Rothschild, legendary proprietor of Chateau Mouton Rothschild, and Robert Mondavi, renowned Napa Valley vintner. And special guest, Paul Hobbs, one of the first California winemakers to focus on single-vineyard wines, is serving some of his wines. He has dedicated himself to crafting unfiltered wines fermented with native yeasts.
